TMS301 - Intro to Dataverse for Teams: Extending Microsoft Teams with Apps and Flows
Use of Microsoft Teams has exploded for many companies as a result of the global pandemic. For many organizations Teams has become the app that connects all their employees together. Power Platform apps, like Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents, provides a low-code platform for extending that functionality. But extending Teams with new apps, flows, and bots requires a place to store content. SharePoint is a possibility, but from a data point of view SharePoint has a lot of limitations since it isn't an actual relational database. Dataverse, formerly known as CDS, provides relational data storage, rich data types, and enterprise-grade governance. But Dataverse has always been a premium feature requiring extra licensing.
This is where Microsoft Dataverse for Teams comes in. Using the Power Apps application inside Teams we can build and deploy apps using a custom version of Dataverse that is included in the Microsoft Teams license. This provides access to a real relational database and one-click solution deployment to the Teams app.
In this talk we'll take a look at what Dataverse for Teams and how it can be used in the Power Platform to extend the Teams application.
We'll cover the following points with slides and demos.
• What does the Teams License cover?
• Differences between Dataverse (CDS) and Dataverse for Teams
• Creating Dataverse Relational Tables
• Building a Power App with Dataverse for Teams
• Integrating Dataverse for Teams with a Flow
• Accessing Dataverse for Teams from a BotRoom 606Fri 9:00 AM — 70 min

Its purpose is to monitor communication methods used both within and outside of the Microsoft 365 cloud to help identify insider non-compliant and risky communication. In the modern workplace today, communication methods are vast and varied and all can be a potential channel for non-compliance. The Communication Compliance tool has been purpose-built to help identify potential areas of non-compliance across these communication methods and remediation actions that can be taken depending on the severity of the activity.
To demonstrate this capability, Joanne Klein will walk through some examples of using both built-in and customized templates to monitor end-user communication methods found in a typical modern workplace. INT303 - Top 8 Ways To Improve Digital Workplace Navigation With Microsoft 365
70% of people start their journey by navigating. It is at the very heart of an effective digital workplace. Improving the navigation experience is Intranet’s number one priority, and it often is not effectively designed or implemented. Navigation is also foundational for integration, automation, security, and many other essential areas of digital workplace investment. Poor navigation creates unnecessary inefficiencies and dependency on already overburdened resources to fill the navigation gaps with their time and effort directing requests, linking digital workspaces, important applications, and more.
The good news is that organizations employ proven designs and best practices today to overcome these challenges. Join Richard Harbridge, a Microsoft MVP and internationally recognized expert on Microsoft 365 and the Digital Workplace, as he shares insight on how to better plan, design, personalize, configure, integrate, and enhance navigation for your Intranet and Digital Workplace.Room 603Fri 1:10 PM — 70 min
PWR303 - Take your Lists to the next level
Modern lists in SharePoint have seen a complete overhaul. While the Lists app in Office 365 is new addition, it uses the same modern SharePoint lists as Office 365.

SPD303 - Using Webhooks to get SharePoint List/Library Event Notifications
Mature organizations that use the Microsoft 365 often need to run custom workflows when users update files and list items in SharePoint Online. When there's only a single list or library, it makes sense to use a tool like Power Automate or an Azure Logic Apps. However, these tools require connecting a workflow to each list or library, making these solutions difficult to manage when there are many lists and libraries in many sites. Enter stage left: SharePoint Webhooks.
To be clear, webhooks are not a power user tool; they require the ability to architect and manage cloud resources and write enterprise level code. But the benefits and scalability make it well worth the time investment!
In this session you'll learn about:
• What webhooks are and what are some of the common use cases they can help solve
• What common architectural pattern for managing your subscriptions and events looks like
• What cloud services are commonly used to support the common architecture
• What boilerplate code looks like to establish and manage subscriptions and react to event notifications
• Where and how you might implement custom handlers for establishing what subscriptions are needed and what happens when an event is fired.
